Early Beginnings in Socorro

I was born in Socorro (S. S.), Colombia, where the vibrant essence of life imbued my childhood. However, at the tender age of five, violence compelled my family to seek refuge in Bucaramanga, marking a pivotal moment in my existence. This upheaval ignited a series of transformative experiences that would shape my artistic journey.

Discovering My Artistic Voice

Even from early childhood, I felt an innate connection to painting. At the age of eight, I was fortunate to encounter the watercolor master Martín Quintero Pacheco, who became my mentor and bridge to the world of art. It was in the classrooms of the Industrial University of Santander (I. U. S.) that I began to immerse myself in this beautiful realm. My first watercolors held immense significance, especially for my father, as they became treasured works of art elegantly framed and displayed in our home, slowly gaining recognition from visitors.

Pursuing Art as a Lifelong Passion

Continuing my artistic education, I enrolled in I. T. A. E., where I initially focused on interior decoration. Yet, the enchantment of fine arts called me back. Returning to the same classrooms where my passion took root, I pursued fine arts at U. I. S., engaging deeply with oils, acrylics, and watercolors. For the past twenty years, I have lived in a serene town in Boyacá, where my spirit freely expresses itself through my art. My artistic identity evolved, transforming from Gloria to Monina, symbolizing my continuous growth and dedication to creativity.
